Which nation do you support?

My friend Pat asked me, " So which nation do you support at the World Cup?".  Really good question as I am not a World Cup fan.  I had to answer her anyway but my mind took a brief journey to the past.

But I remember during my younger days, my dad and I would watch Singapore and Malaysia kick it out for the trophy.  I knew every Singapore player's name on the team.  As for foreign football, well...I only knew the name of a player if he was cute.  That's the truth!

At one World Cup, I really liked England and knew all the players' names!  Don't even ask me about the rules of football.  No nothing..nada!

Last evening over dinner, I was impressed when my older niece and her sister conversed about football and selection of players for the national team.  Wow!

Anyway, back to Pat's question.  I have to be honest and say, "Really, I don't care much about the World Cup.  But I do like sports and I would support any team that really plays fair, not dirty.  I would support the team that respects the sport and the players on the field.  I would support the team that really plays well for their country and crowd.  I would support the team that does not take any bribe to lose a game!" http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/01/sports/soccer/fixed-matches-cast-shadow-over-world-cup.html?_r=0

More importantly, as part of my Christian walk, I want to remember each nation in this major sports event before the Throne of Grace and Mercy.

By the way, do note that you can get that colorful football downloaded from www.shutterstock.com.

Waiting to hear my sis and niece scream as Switzerland is playing soon,

Preparing for a Banquet!

I am in Milan, Italy with my sis.  Just had breakfast of wholemeal croissant with honey, melt-in-the mouth ham and some boiled eggs.
It is going to be more than a small breakfast when we meet Christ!  It will be a banquet!  Listen to what Jesus said!!

Luke 14:
12 He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just."

15 When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, "Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!"

Preparing for the great banquet and looking forward to it.  How about you?  Come on, let's dine together:-)

Finally!

So finally, its happening.  I am sitting next to my god-daughter Verena in Switzerland and she is helping me to get this page started.  Something that I have been wanting to do for the last two years.
So, yes.  Finally is quite the apt title.

I hope to be sharing with you about my travels, thoughts about life in general.  I guess I could do this on Facebook but hey blogging would be better, I think.

So, I hope that you will enjoy reading my blog..as and when it appears and drop me a note, a comment any time.  And hey, let's agree to disagree on opinions:-)

Have a great day in Jesus!!

Much blessings and I like to say this a lot "Dios es bueno todo el tiempo!"  God is good all the time!!
