Chai in a Hamaca

Image
I enjoy sitting or laying in my hamaca (Spanish word for 'hammock') with my eyes toward the blue sky, sometimes covered by thick white clouds. Time completely passes by and the soon the next hour comes by. I missed this hamaca deal since I left Honduras three years ago. And I just got myself a large hamaca for myself, recently. It is a lovely time of rest where I can drift off to nap or think that I am at some resort island. However, I am in Puebla, Mexico and sometimes the weather is not as warm as I would like it to be. And so, it's with a cup of chai (Hindi word for 'tea') and a snack that I head towards the hamaca. In this moment of temporary bliss, the first words that often leave my lips are, "Thank you, God, for such a beautiful day". That word 'beautiful' is not limited to what the eyes can see but it is a confirmed description of a deep recognition of what God has done that day. Perhaps, I had achieved some goals or complet...

Raise Your Praise!

An overdue reflection that I am sharing now. I could never get tired of praising God for who He is and His faithfulness in accomplishing all in my life and in the lives of many others. In my last blog , I lamented and wrote a blessing. And then, I had to hide in Christ by engaging in praise. Let us welcome and embrace the Holy Spirit of Praise. Praising God inevitably moves us into an intensity of intercession for the nations and others. Have you experienced this? Lately, it has been many prayers of deliverance for the nations. I am reminded of th...

57 Years of Nationhood and 377A

Dear Singapore, You break my heart these days. Pride comes before a fall. Note this warning. You are turning 57 on 9th August 2022 and apparently "struggling" over an issue: that of repealing 377A. You can read an article in The Asean Post and determine the juxtaposition of an advanced economy besides apparently, and archaic law. So, it seems that Singapore is a little backward and not "keeping up with the times". And then you have fathers who are fighters for the children and who believe that the repealing of 377A will affect our future generations and this you can read here . This is exciting to have fathers who care for the future generations. Any mothers onboard with this desire and stating it as openly? For my friends outside of Singapore, what is 377A ? It is a penal code that concerns outrageous indecent acts between men: Outrages on decency 377A. Any male person who, in public or private, commits, or abets the commission of, or procures or atte...
